The Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Lecturer in
Educational Practice in Reading/Writing/Literacy (RWL). Responsibilities include teaching courses in the RWL masters degree and reading
specialist programs, coordinating the reading specialist program (which includes coordinating field experiences for all RWL students and
maintaining programmatic compliance with relevant certification policies), coordinating the Philadelphia Writing Project, and collaborating
with other teacher certification programs at GSE.

The initial appointment as a Lecturer in Educational Practice shall
be for one year only. At the end of the first year, it is expected that the appointment shall be extended for an additional two years on the
basis of performance and on the academic need for such services continuing to exist. All subsequent reviews and continued reappointments are
to be based on professional performance and the academic need for services.

Qualifications
Qualifications include an earned
doctorate in literacy or English education, or a related field, certification as a K-12 teacher and/or reading specialist, and expertise in
preparing teachers to work with culturally and linguistically diverse schools and communities. The most competitive candidates will have
knowledge of K-12 urban school districts and communities, demonstrated commitments to social justice and educational equity, and experience
with school/community partnerships and teacher networks.
