Position Summary
Dishwashers are responsible for cleaning dirty pots, pans, cooking utensils, dinnerware and cutlery to NYS Sanitation code requirements. The dishwasher will use an automatic machine, as well as a manual 3 bay sink for washing. Dishwashers also help the other staff of the restaurant with stocking, organization and cleaning activities. All dishwashers must report to work on time and be willing to stay until the kitchen is clean at the end of shift.
Essential Job Functions
- Report to work on-time and ready
- Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude
- Communicate with cooks, supervisors, and managers when an issue arises
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the front of line and prep areas
- Ensure that cooks have plates at the ready
- Be organized – if the wrong food is sent out, we all lose
- Carrying trays without issue
- Enforce presentation standards and work cooperatively with cooks to correct issues
