Hoffman & McNamara Co Looking for Entry level Estimator at Hastings, MN

Primary Job Summary: The candidate selected for this position will assist estimators in the preparation and submission of accurate and competitive bids. Review project plans and specifications, generate accurate quantity takeoffs, solicit subcontractor and supplier quotes, and strategize bidding approach in coordination with estimators, project managers and project superintendents. This position is primarily in the office with occasional visits to project sites, pre-bid meetings, and bid openings. Communicate with project owners, engineers, and architects.

Compensation: $25 per hour with overtime after 40 hours. After an on-boarding period benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, PTO, paid holidays, and profit sharing will be available after one year of service. Work hours: 40 hours weekly with flexible schedule, overtime after 40 hours during peak seasonal periods.

Required Qualifications: Strong attention to detail and organization. Time management skills with the ability to multitask and work on multiple estimates at the same time. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable with computers and email. Must have means of transportation to and from our Hastings location.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in construction estimating, project management, or related field. Experience reading plans and specifications. Experience with Excel and Bluebeam.
