JOB DESCRIPTION: This Patient Biller III is responsible for resolving hospital claim errors, claim rejections, technical claim denials and follow up on outstanding claim submissions to insurance companies. The Patient Biller will handle hospital claim billing and follow up assignments congruent with Patient Financial Services department leadership daily focus assignments in efforts to achieve department and organization cash collections and AR management in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental productivity and quality standards and performance metrics. The Patient Biller will work all assignments and attend all required team, training and coaching meetings remotely via video conferencing platforms as assigned by department leadership.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience performing hospital patient account billing and follow up billing activities
- Demonstrate Hospital Patient Accounting Epic Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant Hospital Patient Accounts Billing and Follow up experience (Physician or Clinic Billing experience will NOT apply)
- Proficiency with MS Office Products (Mail, Excel and Word).
- Demonstrate experience performing hospital patient account billing and follow up under productivity and quality measures
- Extensive knowledge of hospital patient account medical insurance billing/processes, hospital claim appeal/dispute processes, UB04 state and federal regulatory data requirements, industry standard HIPAA/ PHI guidelines
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology, coding principles (CPT/HCPCS/ ICD10/modifiers) as it pertains to hospital patient account billing and follow up
- Demonstrate knowledge reading and interpreting insurance EOBs and correspondence related to hospital patient account claim adjudication.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience performing appeal or action in response to common hospital patient account claim denials.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour
