Position Summary

Wintrust is looking for a highly self-motivated, creative, and enthusiastic professional to join the Wintrust Internal Audit team. We offer the opportunity to develop leadership skills while learning about the organization. This position will contribute to the overall team success by performing risk-based audits. The role will work in a collaborative environment while occasionally working independently with supervision.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute operational risk-based audits to assess control design and operating effectiveness.

  • Manage assigned audits and related audit activities to ensure the timely completion of the audit including audit finding validations.

  • Develop audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives.

  • Ensure audit engagement quality, including adherence to International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IIA Standards) and Internal Audit Department policies and standards.

  • Participate in the annual audit plan, including the annual risk assessment, in collaboration with Internal Audit senior management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, from an accredited college or university, with a major in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study.

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant operational audit experience in public accounting and/or internal auditing (eg, Banking, Fraud)

  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, leadership, and coaching skills.

  • Strongly preferred: one relevant audit certification (CIA, CISA, CPA, etc.).
