Full Job Description
William A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 50 years, is looking for a Construction Laborer for our Air-test crew. This position reports to and is under the direction of foreman or superintendent. William A. Hazel, Inc., operates all over the Northern Virginia Area. By applying to this position you acknowledge and understand you may be required to commute to job sites.
Requirements – Valid DL & Transportation
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working safely and working as a team member and to understand the danger of working in confined spaces.
- Report to the foreman on the job requirements for the day.
- Review the plans to set up the inspection/DVD reports.
- Walk job pulling Manhole lids and looking down Manholes to see if cleaning is required prior to CCTV.
- Helping combination Jet/Vac pipe cleaning truck clean the lines where necessary.
- Maintain the camera system.
- Set up the CCTV system for inspection.
- View and analyze the pipe line individual is inspecting, create DVDs and inspection reports.
- Report any major defects in the pipeline to foreman asap.
- Finalize DVDs and complete inspection reports.
- May be required to drive a non-CDL company truck.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium.
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE;
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform manual labor tasks necessary to complete each essential duty satisfactory. Less than high school education; entry level experience. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables. Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations caused by internal or external forces.
