Title: Splunk Dev/Admin
Location: REMOTE
Duration: Long-term Contract
· Integrate and manage Splunk App for AWS with our AWS infrastructure in a large multi-account cloud environment.
· Develop Splunk apps and add-ons using Simple XML dashboard visualizations, field extractions, Splunk props and transform commands, or Splunk Processing Language (SPL) or, when necessary, Python.
· Develop complex queries, alerts, reports, and dashboards using Splunk’s proprietary SPL language.
· Troubleshoot non-performant Splunk platforms including Apps or Technology Add-Ons. From time to time, perform Splunk upgrades or migrations.
· Understand the business process flow and design & develop an “End-2-End” business transaction visibility, including large-scale processing, integration, and analysis of system logs and databases in Splunk.
· Discover and mine data to develop meaningful insights into Failed, Unexpected, Incomplete, or Delayed business transactions.
· Develop visualization dashboards and indicators that identify anomalous activities using statistical behavior models, and machine learning.
· Practical experience with data modeling in Splunk including experience using the Splunk CIM.
· Support and guide Client resources that include Splunk Administrators, Architects, Knowledge Managers, Developers, and Users for increasing Splunk adoption and overall customer success.
· Development of best practices and run books.
Qualifications:
Required Education: Bachelors or better in Information Technology.
· BS degree and/or 4+ years of technical experience
· 3 years of SPLUNK Development experience developing dashboard with SPL.
· 3 years of SPLUNK Administration experience
· Experience integrating multiple data streams and feeds from networks, infrastructure services, mission/business applications into a near, real-time dashboard for use in troubleshooting
· Experience creating and managing Splunk knowledge objects (field extractions, macros, event types, etc )
· Experience utilizing both pre-built dashboards/add-ons within SPLUNK system and customized SPLUNK dashboards and search queries.
· Experience capturing applications baseline performance deviations and implement proactive SPLUNK monitoring and alerting of production systems.
· On-boarding new data sources into Splunk, analyzing the data for anomalies and trends, and building dashboards highlighting the key trends of the data.
· Hands on exposure on shell scripting and Unix/Linux/Windows System Administration
· Strong preference for consultants with customer-facing extensive experience architecting/developing/deploying/configuration of customized technical add-ons
· Python/Regex experience would be highly preferable
· Superior communication and presentation skills
· Splunk training and/or certifications would be a major plus
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $60.00 – $62.00 per hour
