The Bank Risk Management Risk Insights team is looking for a very hardworking and motivated Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst to provide risk insights to be used in reporting to the Boards of Directors and senior management committees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk and financial analysis to produce forward looking insights. Analytical expertise within areas such as financial or credit risk is preferred.
This Quantitative Risk Analyst Senior role can be based in one of our following office locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Tampa, FL, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC OR work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.
What you’ll do:
- Utilizes advanced analytics to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness and translates results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making.
- Applies advanced knowledge and industry best practices to quantify risk and aggregate exposures.
- Engages in model validation and produces model validation reports.
- Applies innovative and scientific/quantitative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make recommendations to answer business objectives and drive change.
- Translates recommendations into communication materials to effectively present to colleagues for peer review and management.
- Applies advanced knowledge to produce advanced analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand complex business objectives and influence solution strategies.
- Provides mentorship to other team members in the peer review process
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- 6 years related quantitative analysis experience in a discipline relevant to risk management to include statistical analysis, modeling, mathematics or other quantitative discipline.
- OR advanced degree/designation in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or other quantitative discipline and 4 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.
- OR PhD in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative discipline and up to 2 years work experience in a quantitative discipline relevant to risk management.
What sets you apart:
- Experience evaluating results to produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand risk exposure and influence strategies
- 6+ years banking experience, specifically in finance or credit risk
- Experience developing clear and concise written analysis and communicating conclusions/findings to senior management and Board committees
- Experience aggregating and analyzing various types of information across the risk taxonomy with output to executive level presentations
- Direct experience in risk measurement and assessment (Risk Appetite, KRIs) for complex financial institution with knowledge across risk taxonomy

What we offer:
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $104,660 – $199,970.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
