Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Education Abroad Advisor, Multi-Campus. The Education Abroad Advisor (SAA) is responsible for coordinating and advising students going on education abroad programs. The EA Advisor is the primary contact for students who are interested in education abroad. The EA Advisor works with programs at the university and across the state in order to give the greatest variety of opportunities to UNG students. The EA Advisor will be responsible for marketing and promoting education abroad programs, working within a team to manage a diverse program portfolio including faculty-led programs, exchanges, consortia, and providers. Responsibilities

  • Advises undergraduate students regarding education abroad including faculty-led, direct enrollment, exchanges, internships, and provider programs. Advises students on pre-departure information and logistics of education abroad programs; Act as the primary resource for students about education abroad programs on campus. Manage student applications and data in TerraDotta.
  • Coordinate education abroad information forums; Manage the marketing of education abroad to the campus, utilize social media to market departmental programs and initiatives; Coordinate and conduct education abroad workshops; Assist in the coordination of international education week; Manage updates in Terra Dotta related to a specific program portfolio; Conduct presentations to classes about study abroad programs on campus.
  • Works with faculty led study abroad programs. Assist study abroad program directors with financial management, insurance issues, and risk management issues.
  • Facilitates credit equivalencies and transfer of student classes abroad; Process students participating in exchange, consortia, and provider programs; Serve in selection panels for Study Abroad Scholarships.
  • Other job related duties as assigned, including airport shuttles


Knowlegde, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and other computer software.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment; Excellent communication skills; Predisposition to work as a team member in a dynamic and flexible environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Valid Class “C” Driver’s License
  • One year of experience in administration or higher education setting (international office, student support services, advising, financial aid, registrar, orientation, residence life, peer mentor/tutor, etc.).
