Job Summary: The Program Manager provides oversight and planning for the development, implementation, and delivery of a program(s).
Additional Department Summary: We are seeking a motivated individual to continue and expand the education and outreach efforts of the Translational Research for Injury Prevention (TRIP) Laboratory at the University of Alabama Institute for Social Science Research.
The primary goals of this position are: 1) To serve as the lead field representative in community and school outreach programs for the TRIP Lab, 2) To direct the operations of all community outreach events, 3) To independently design, develop, and administer program content, and 4) To provide oversight of students/staff engaged in carrying out the program activities.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: MA, MS, or MPH -OR- BA, BS + 2 years’ experience.
Educational background in Psychology, Public Health, Communications, Education, Counseling, Public Relations, or related field.
Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Intrinsic motivation to work with high school students. Seeking an outgoing, energetic, positive, focused, and organized individual. Refined verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent public speaker. Basic desktop computing skills. Ability to work with diverse groups and adolescents. Prior leadership experience or involvement in community outreach (volunteer or paid) is preferred.
