Positions in this function are responsible for checking in, scheduling appointments, answering billing questions and managing patient medical records for a clinic. Roles may vary based on the size of the clinic(s).
This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00pm – 3:30am, Monday -Friday every other weekend and rotating holidays . Our office is located at 1201 South Grand Blvd St Louis, MO 63104
We offer weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:30am to 5pm, Tuesday- Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Optum360 and client Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by facilitating communication within the team.
- Analyze and communicates policies/procedures and other business documentation. Complete audits on staff including key performance indicators waiting (service times, staff productivity, accuracy, patient satisfaction, customer feedback, incident reporting, etc.) reportable to their direct leader and will assist with special projects.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Optum360’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior
- Work is frequently completed without established procedures and work independently, may act as a resource for others or may coordinate others’ activities
- Act as a role model for the team and should help coach all team members to do the same.
- Will be responsible for routinely working in all areas of PAS, responsible for carrying the on-call phone, and working rotation shifts (based on departmental need). If the senior is not able to secure minimum departmental staffing levels, they must cover the shift.
- Responsible for training, development, delegating and managing epic assigned work ques for all staff as needed.
- May be assigned to represent PAS in various departmental/hospital meetings.
- Responsible for ensuring staffing huddles are consistent and bring value to team.
- Resolves patient complaints and or physician concerns and escalates to next level as appropriate.
- Covers shifts or coordinates coverage as needed for vacations/absences/vacancies to ensure points of access are appropriately staffed.
- Assists with creating and managing departmental schedule(s) with direct leader’s supervision.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 2+ years in Acute Care Facility or Centralized Business Office performing one of various functions including Billing/Coding, Balance after insurance or self – Pay Collections, Appeals processing, Patient Access Department Patient Scheduling, Pre – Service/Financial Clearance, Registration, Financial Counseling, or other functions related to revenue cycle activities in a complex, multi – site environment
- 1+ years electronic health record experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, copy, edit, send, and save documents, spreadsheets, and emails)
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology through college level coursework or 2+ years of on – the – job training
- Ability to work 7:00pm- 3:30am, Monday -Friday every other weekend and rotating holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Maintain current knowledge of process and systems, regulatory and 3rd party payer issues and requirements
- 2+ years of substantial experience and career growth in a Revenue Cycle role
