Full Job Description
SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Financial Analyst is to analyze the past and present financial data of Servion and estimate future revenues and expenditures. Other responsibilities include financial statements assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, cost control and project control. Expectations for the Financial Analyst position is to perform financial functions such as evaluating and analyzing capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, and maintain operating records. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Responsible for the company’s Annual budgeting; Creating a rolling 12-month budget; Creating a 3-month forecast/predictive modeling for each business unit
- Meet with business unit leaders and/or managers to walk through actual to budget variances and gain insights into what is coming down the pipeline to create the 3-month forecast and rolling 12-month budget.
- Work with the Secondary Markets Department to gain a understanding of loan sales and hedging for creation of formulas in Adaptive for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
- Work with business unit leaders and managers to gain an understanding of economic and industry insights for predictive modeling (what if scenarios).
- Work with technical team for Power BI/data analysis to use in forecasts/predictive models.
- Work with business unit leaders/managers to create proforma financials for new products/services or for acquisitions of service portfolios, other businesses, etc.
- Work to develop a breakeven volume for each area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to use existing company data and systems to model budgeting and cost control
- Ability to oversee the examination of general economic conditions and financial situation of the company
- Ability to predict the impact that financial events (i.e., mortgage rates, etc.) and policy changes would have on the overall growth of the company
- Ability to determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data
- Ability to analyzes past and current financial performance data
- Ability to identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Ability to conduct research and financial analysis, connect with management teams and company officials to generate written reports and presentations.
- Ability to forecast, plan, prioritize, rank, and recognize financial problems
- Strong understanding of business finance and analytics
- Strong research skills to review internal databases and reports from other business units and
- Assist management team evaluate the company’s strength to help make investment decisions in line with current market trends.
- Familiarity with analytical and financial modeling and utilization of quantitative analysis
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: At least 4-year Degree Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or another related field
Experience: Firsthand experience of planning, budgeting, and forecasting in a growing organization
