This position is responsible for coordinating and operating equipment on conservation land managed properties and grounds maintenance on existing and new livestock production facilities owned or managed by Summit Agricultural Group.
Hours will average 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during spring and fall seasons some weekends will be required.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with all repair and maintenance grounds keeping projects on livestock production sites
- Seeding blue grass
- Lawn mowing and trimming
- Planting and maintaining trees
- Spraying grass and tree rows
- Installing and maintaining driplines on new trees
- Work with staff and government agencies to ensure conservation properties are managed by applying different management strategies, which include
- Prepping and seeding areas to native grasses and forbs
- Performing spring prescribe burns
- Mowing and spraying to control invasive vegetative species
- Prepping and planting food plots
- Timber stand improvement projects
- Responsible for the routine general R&M on equipment which includes:
- Servicing Skid loaders, tractors, mowers/trimmers
- Neutralizing sprayers
- Calibrating grass drills
- Chainsaws
- Other duties and projects as assigned

- Exceptional organization and ability to prioritize work assignments appropriately

REQUIRED WORKSKILL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to operate power tools, large and small farm machinery, hand tools
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and perform outdoor, manual labor
- Basic knowledge of GPS
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record
- Ability to maintain 50 hours per week
- Able to adapt to increase workload and hours during Spring and Fall
- Associate Degree or B.S. in the conservation related field is preferred
- Ability to work outside in extreme conditions
- Basic knowledge to operate skid loaders, tractors, and truck and trailers
