Southern Foodservice Management is seeking talented Foodservice Manager to oversee food service operations at our KAMTEK account in Birmingham, AL. Candidates should be committed to providing the best possible dining experience for the employees and guests of the KAMTEK campus. We’re looking for professionals who will deliver excellent customer service and quality food and who will help build a culinary Team who is passionate about serving the KAMTEK employees and guests.
Compensation – $45,000 to $50,000 per year
Job Summary
Assists the Project Manager in all aspects of the operation to ensure the highest quality food products are being prepared for employees and guests. Directly supervises and trains kitchen and front of house personnel on all related culinary and customer service activities. Assists with daily sales reports, payroll, inventory, ordering, and other administrative duties.
Essential Functions
- Oversees operation for breakfast, lunch and dinner for quality assurance of meal presentation and portion control.
- Ensures meals are prepared using standardized recipes to provide consistent quality. Develops menus for guests with a focus on presentation technique and quality standards. Plans, modifies and develops all menus.
- Performs a pre-meal meeting with culinary and service Team to review detail of daily menu.
- Ensures an adequate number of service team members are scheduled each shift and ensures absences are covered.
- Monitors and maintains a proper inventory level.
- Assists in the adherence to maintaining budget compliance for daily food costs and assists with end of month reporting.
- Assists in applying appropriate loss prevention procedures.
- Assists in hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining and coaching associates. Provides training for all culinary and service staff.
- Assists in the coordination and execution of special events.
- Maintains kitchen cleanliness and food preparation according to state and local health department code requirements.
- Ensures all kitchen equipment is in working order and kept clean at all times.
- Oversees the proper inventory, storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
- Keeps waste to a minimum by utilizing food storage and food recycling techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2+ years’ experience as a Food Service Manager
- Excellent organizational and communications skills
- Dedicated to food quality and control with a high level of creativity
- Full understanding of proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Flexible schedule required
