Sr. Manager, Accounting
The Senior Manager is responsible for the overall integrity of the general ledger structure and managing the month-end close. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of world-wide consolidated financial statements and support. This person will interact with many groups within the company in a highly visible position. The right person for this role is an outstanding communicator, has strong leadership and project management skills, is proactive and intellectually curious and can effectively problem solve in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Assistant Controller and is located in Irvine, California onsite 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Own the general ledger master data (chart of accounts, cost centers, financial approval matrix)
Coordinate the worldwide accounting close process, including preparing consolidation entries, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
Prepare monthly worldwide consolidation files
Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement and partner with the IT team to deliver process improvements and automation
Oversee the intercompany accounting function including working with the tax and international teams on the cost plus/transfer pricing/profit share entries among entities
Document and monitor accounting policies and procedures
Lead and participate in strategic financial projects related to acquisitions, system implementations, audits, etc.
Provide support to external auditors in connection with quarterly reviews and annual audits
Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
Oversee the multi-state use tax filings and occasional audits
Responsible for debt accounting
Manage and coach a team of two or more responsible for prepaid and accrual accounting, lease accounting, accounting for intangibles, cash and investment accounting, allocations, recurring entries and employee benefit accounting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
CPA license
11+ years of accounting experience
2+ years of management experience
SAP experience strongly preferred
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
Strong business partnering, project management and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous priorities
Must be a good team leader and team player
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $122,000 – $231,000 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
