Ruland is looking for an energetic motivated Supervisor to join a diverse and growing manufacturing team that runs a variety of manual, CNC, and secondary equipment in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate must be customer focused, well organized, goal oriented, a good communicator, and able to follow documented processes. Due to Ruland’s fast growth the Supervisor must work closely with engineering and the Operations Manager to implement changes in technology, processes, and equipment.

Production goals are measured by the Supervisor on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and they should be communicated to employees on a routine basis. If production goals are consistently missed, the Supervisor must collaboratively work with employees and the Operations Manager to identify and correct deficiencies. Ruland incentivizes the Supervisor and employees to meet goals through a monthly production bonus of up to 15%.
The ideal candidate must have good computer and math skills. Ruland uses Excel to help manage schedules and daily reporting. The Supervisor will be required to make formatting and formula changes to keep these up to date. Ruland’s ERP, SAP Business One, is used in tandem with Crystal Reports to assist in production planning, enter inventory transactions, and monitor inventory discrepancies. Ruland utilizes other software such as SharePoint, Microsoft Access, and homegrown tools to help the Supervisor keep their cell organized and running efficiently. Basic math skills such as being able to add and subtract fractions, convert fractions to decimals, and work in imperial and metric measurement systems are required to be successful.
Along with daily tasks, the Supervisor is responsible for hiring, employee development, and annual reviews. Ruland is a growing manufacturer with new positions becoming available. The Supervisor will be involved throughout the hiring process working closely with HR, engineering, and the Operations Manager to identify what skills are required and which candidate is the best fit. Ruland requires a minimum of two employees to be trained on every operation and the Supervisor is responsible for keeping their cell’s training up to date. This includes cross training direct reports on multiple machines or operations and working with supervisors to cross train in other cells. The Supervisor must give every employee they lead an annual performance review to facilitate the employee’s development.
