We are seeking a biller for a new and expanding Psychiatric Practice in Midtown Manhattan. Functions include obtaining pre-authorizations, checking eligibility, billing and tracking incoming EOBs and payments
An ideal candidate is a highly detailed and organized person who meets the following criteria:
- 2 years of experience in medical billing. Psychiatry experience a plus
- Familiar with a variety of billing programs with electronic submissions
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, IN/OON benefits, Medicare rules
- Incident-to billing experience
Job responsibilities:
- Check eligibility and benefit verification via phone and electronically
- Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software
- Follow up on unpaid claims
- Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract price
- Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
- Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances
- Research and appeal denied claims
- Some administrative work from time to time

Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 /hour
