About our Company: We are one of New England’s oldest and most respected asset based transportation groups. We provide a wide range of diversified services to our customers including: trucking; warehousing & distribution; supply chain and home delivery solutions.
About the Opportunity: We provide final mile / home delivery services for several e-commerce furniture and housewares company. The current scope of this position is 15,000 deliveries per year with 4 trucks and growing.
The role includes day-to-day interface our client’s management to accomplish complete customer satisfaction for the home delivery of their products in MA, RI, VT, NH & ME.
The position will assist the Final Mile Team with the daily delivery team activities & customer service. Responsible for performance measurement and the coordination / transfer of all related delivery commissions. The environment is demanding and fast paced, requiring a strong character and top proactive decision making skills. On-call after hours as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Daily interactions with customers providing time frame expectations for delivery of product
- Strict adherence of our client’s SOP to ensure the quality delivery standards are met
- Driver interface and direct support
- Heavy communicating via phone with customers, drivers and corporate accounts
- Scheduling of all Final Mile deliveries with customer and contractor follow up
- Use of proprietary routing / dispatching software and associated reports
Candidate Skills:
- Experience in logistics / transportation field a plus
- Fleet management / dispatching / delivery familiarity
- Experience with order delivery software
- Excellent spreadsheet and Microsoft Office skills
- Proficient customer service / heavy phone work
