Start your career at Pomeroy! We’re looking for shipping specialists to pick and ship IT equipment in our Hebron, KY location. No shipping experience necessary, but experience with data entry is a plus!
This position offers:
- $500 sign on bonus after 90 days of employment

- M-F 8-5 schedule OR M-F 9-6 with 1 Saturday a month (with OT pay)

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to communicate with fellow employees and supervision.
- Must be willing to work in a fast paced, computer system process in a team-oriented environment.
- Willing to continually learn the tools of our warehouse management system (IRMS) and our host system (Astea) to intelligently understand our order processing operations.
- Ability to lift up to 60lbs occasionally. Most requirements are less.
- Able to follow safety manual regulations
- Must take fork truck training and pass the certification.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Verify that item number and quantities match the pick ticket and system on every order.
- Overbox required parts and provide dunnage fill to prevent damage during the shipping process.
- Capture accurate information as required by our system (i.e. serial numbers asset tags etc.)
- Ensure that orders are complete with packing lists and carton content information in an enclosed packing list envelope or safely placed inside an overbox with the appropriate notification label on that box.
- Process orders through our ProShip system, placing shipping labels and/or BOL’s correctly onto cartons to ensure that they can be tracked and delivered by our carriers.
- Practice safe handling, lifting and driving procedures and ensure cleanliness of work area is maintained through the shift.
- Adhere to all ISO procedures pertinent to job functions.
- Must accept occasional cross-training opportunities both within and outside of the Shipping department to enhance employee worth to Pomeroy.
- Assist other departments when work is current in the Shipping Department.
- Must perform various duties of housekeeping as instructed by Supervisor.
