How will you make a difference to PMI?
As the Product Manager, Digital Framework you will be facilitating the vision, delivery, adoption, and governance of the UI Framework across PMI. You will Plays a pivotal role in unifying PMI’s ecosystem of digital experiences, ensuring a consistent, intuitive, and high-quality user experience across all platforms. The work will drive the evolution of our UI Framework, promoting efficiency, consistency, and collaboration across development teams and ultimately elevating each of PMI’s customer touchpoints.
What you’ll bring to the role:
. UI Framework Strategy: Develop and drive the strategy and vision for the UI Framework, aligning it with the overall product and experience vision of the organization. Define the scope, purpose, and principles of the UI Framework.
. UI Framework Development: Lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of the design system, including the establishment of design patterns, components, and guidelines. Partner with developers, and other stakeholders (including senior level) to ensure the UI Framework meets their needs and supports efficient development workflows.
. Governance and Documentation: Establish and own governance processes and standards for the UI Framework, including version control, documentation, and change management. Ensure the UI Framework is well-documented and easily accessible to the development teams.
. Contribution Model Process: Establish and manage a contribution model process for the UI Framework, allowing developers, and other stakeholders to contribute to the evolution and improvement of the UI Framework. This includes defining guidelines and criteria for contributions, creating documentation and tools to facilitate the contribution process, and ensuring that contributions align with the UI Framework’s principles and standards.
. Training and Support: Create and provide training and support to developers on using the UI Framework effectively. Help them understand and leverage the tools, components, and guidelines to create consistent and high-quality experiences.
. UI Framework Advocacy: Act as an advocate for the UI Framework, promoting its adoption and importance to stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Create collaborative partnerships with leaders to secure resources and support for the ongoing development and maintenance of the UI Framework.
. Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, developers, and product managers. Educate and evangelize the value and benefits of the UI Framework, promoting its adoption and usage across the organization.
. Ceremonies – Ownership of all UI Framework-related ceremonies, such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
. Backlog – Ownership of the UI Framework backlog, ensuring it is well-maintained, organized, and prioritized based on strategic objectives and user needs. Working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand pain points, and identify opportunities for improvement in the UI Framework.
. Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and refine the UI Framework based on user feedback, industry best practices, and evolving experience and technology trends. Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to ensure the UI Framework remains relevant and valuable.
Job Qualifications:
. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering, other related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
. 10+ years of Front End or UI development experience leveraging CSS, SASS, and React.
. 5 years of leading UI architecture, or similar.
. 3+ years Product Management/Ownership experience
. Demonstrated understanding of the distinction between a UI Framework and Design System and developing methods of integration between the two across several technical areas, including HTML, CSS, React, Style Dictionary, and Design Tokens.
. The ability to explain the technical feasibility of the adoption of the UI Framework as it depends upon the platform/solutions being used.
. Comfortable maintaining both vertical and horizontal relationships, negotiating priorities with various, and working collaboratively to promote the adoption of the UI Framework.
. Exceptional presentation, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a genuine passion for engaging with consumers and stakeholders to evangelize the UI Framework.
. A track record in delivering UI Frameworks or design systems for global organizations.
