POSITION SUMMARY

Pinova Incorporated is currently seeking a Transportation/Logistics Supervisor for our Brunswick, Georgia facility. This position is a hands-on position and will manage a team of 5 direct reports and will be responsible for providing all Logistics Coordinators appropriate training, tools, mentoring, and support to effectively and efficiently perform load planning, load tendering, and load scheduling functions to meet internal and external customer expectations. Until fully trained, this position is required to work at the Brunswick site, following full training in the role, candidate could potentially work from home 20% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inbound and Outbound deliveries management:
  • Works together with Planning, Customer Fulfillment Team, and Shipping in the optimization of all inbound and outbound activities and consolidation for the sites, including external warehousing.
  • Contact and arrange transportation planning with the external partners of the Company
  • Lead the non-operational activities with external warehouse (check on inbound, outbound accuracy and inventory counts and checks on a regular basis),
  • Closely monitors the flows, ensures that SAP system is updated accordingly, and ensures accurate files and documentation on all shipments are maintained.
  • Ensures coordination of shipping arrangements and ensures shipping documentation for exports are provided and prepared.
  • Manages/ensures communication with internal & personnel regarding timely shipment of the orders
  • Prepares and presents the performance review of freight forwarders and custom broker.
  • Ensures that all shipments comply with International, Federal and State shipping regulations

Manage Inbound Bulk and Off-Site Inventories:

  • Contact and arrange all transportation planning with the external partners of the Company
  • Ensures that the inbound bulk freight records are made and proper goods-receipting in SAP. Record vendor bulk weights and compare to Pinova scale weights, recording both sets of data
  • Ensures that accurate goods receipt finished goods in SAP for outside warehousing locations. Keeping accurate inventory and goods receipts up to date is essential
  • Adjust out damaged and missing inventories as reported by external warehouses

Supervisory Duties:

  • Schedules and supervises 5 direct reports.
  • Prioritize, organize, and plan the daily work of Logistic Coordinators to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • Leading the training efforts for all employees in the area, including creating and maintaining a formal training process for all new employees.
  • Prepare/develop/mentor employees for career progression into various positions within the Company.
  • Reviews and evaluates employee performance, development, rewards and initiates recommendations of disciplinary actions in partnership with HR and direct Manager.
  • Act as champion of the company’s Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Enthusiastically support a team-oriented management philosophy. Know company policies and work effectively within the company team structure.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree preferred
  • 2 to 5 years Supervisory or Leadership Experience
  • ERP experience (SAP preferred)
  • Positive attitude
  • Very organized; demonstrated ability to document and maintain complicated systems.
  • Self-starter, able to recognize and correct problems within their area.
  • Experience estimating work requirements and resource needs for scheduling.
  • Must possess strong experience in Microsoft Office including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Experience documenting work procedures and training others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules.
  • Proven solid work ethic and ability to work well with others as well as independently.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
