Position Overview:
The International Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the movement of import goods from the time they are released from Customs to the delivery to the Distribution Centers. This position is also responsible to collaborate with the Distribution Center planning team and the delivering carrier by administering delivery of all cargo within the required timeframe. This role is required to provide excellent customer service to internal and external parties.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for tracking all Ollie’s imported Purchase Orders from the time of release from Customs to delivery to the Distribution Centers
- Works closely with the Import Coordinator to confirm status of arrivals and container releases
- Principally responsible for domestic deliveries of vendor imported goods, coordinates deliveries and appointments with vendors
- Oversee the day to day operations of the trans-loading facilities
- Coordinate appointments with the Distribution Center scheduling team
- Communicate delivery appointments to trans-loaders and carriers
- Report service failures from carriers and process re-schedules as necessary
- Prepare reports of container arrivals and maintain applicable spreadsheets
- Track container deliveries and their returns to the pier
- Reviews and manages claims with trans-loaders and carriers
- Helps the Import Coordinator with Import record-keeping to include: pulling import shipment information from Shapiro 360 and entering those shipments in AS400 for scheduling
- Complete additional responsibilities to be determined as business needs arise
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Higher education, including two to four year degree related to business management preferred, but not required
- Must have ability to work independently and in team setting
- Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions required
- Strong communication skills via email and phone required
- Intermediate working experience in AS400 and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Able to work in a fast paced and detail-oriented environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for an extended period of time at a desk.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended period of time.
- Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
