Background:
Norton financials provides accounting, finance, and other outsourced services to growing businesses.
We are a small team, for now, and we work entirely digital and remote. We are growing, and thus could use an Accounting Operations Analyst to help maintain the existing operations for our outsourced client accounting services clients.
We are looking for an individual who is excited to join a small and growing accounting company. The candidate must capable and willing to work remotely.
The accounting operations analyst will ultimately be maintaining the day-to-day accounting records of our clients (within QuickBooks Online), overseeing the month-end closing/reconciliation process for client accounts, assisting with ad-hoc client projects (excel, data analysis, etc.), accounts payable management, and serving as an account manager for our outsourced accounting services clients (fielding client questions, resolving issues, communicating project progress, etc.). Training will be provided for areas which candidate may be lacking.
We are looking for someone who is open to working with a smaller company, in its early stages. We are interested in someone who can be a team player, and help us towards our goal of delivering exceptional service to our clients by providing expert guidance, enhancing operations, resolving client issues, improving overall service, and allowing them to focus on other areas of their business.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional quality books to our clients
- Provide exceptional customer service (via phone, email, or other communications) as a point of contact and SME for clients
- Monthly client account reconciliation process
- Client reporting (financial statement reporting (P&L, BS, CFs), and custom reporting)
- Manage and utilize back-office staff to execute and deliver accounting services
- Ensure client QB account is organized, accurate, and up to date
- Perform involved MS Excel calculations (as part of outsourced payroll services)
- Document processes, automate manual processes, utilize technology/software, create process efficiencies, build controls
- Create and post payroll journal entries (from payroll providers reports to QuickBooks Online)
- Manage client accounts payable operations (via Bill.com)
- Coordinate client sales tax filing and payment (and create associated journal entries within QuickBooks Online)
- Ad-hoc client projects (projections, forecasts, metrics reporting, etc.)
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of accounting experience required
- B.S. or M.S. in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Excellent written communication skills
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is highly valued, but open to candidates that are capable of learning and mastering this software (along with others)
- CPA is highly valued, but not required
- Tech Savvy – MS Excel, Slack, HubDoc, Bill.com, Google Drive (must be willing to adapt and learn new software)
