Responsibilities:
- Direct instruction and support of NYS Science Technology Entry Program (STEP) grant students in STEM education, including computer science, robotics, engineering, and maker spaces
- Maintenance of NYS required data and completion of NYS grant reports
- Travel to Long Island and NYC school sites
- Coordinate local volunteer teachers at school sites
- Attendance at regional and state STEP conferences
- Investigate emerging technologies appropriate for STEP
- Coordinate parent and community advisory boards
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree required
- MA or MS degree preferred
- Valid Teacher License in NYS required
- 2-3 Years Teaching experienced preferred
- Required field of expertise in STEM, including Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, and Maker Spaces
- Working knowledge of educational technology platforms, including Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, and Maker Spaces
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Pedagogical skills grades 7-12
- Professional learning instructional skills for K-12 educators
- Ability to drive to Long Island and NYC school sites

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
