Responsibilities:

  • Direct instruction and support of NYS Science Technology Entry Program (STEP) grant students in STEM education, including computer science, robotics, engineering, and maker spaces
  • Maintenance of NYS required data and completion of NYS grant reports
  • Travel to Long Island and NYC school sites
  • Coordinate local volunteer teachers at school sites
  • Attendance at regional and state STEP conferences
  • Investigate emerging technologies appropriate for STEP
  • Coordinate parent and community advisory boards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree required
  • MA or MS degree preferred
  • Valid Teacher License in NYS required
  • 2-3 Years Teaching experienced preferred
  • Required field of expertise in STEM, including Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, and Maker Spaces
  • Working knowledge of educational technology platforms, including Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, and Maker Spaces
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Pedagogical skills grades 7-12
  • Professional learning instructional skills for K-12 educators
  • Ability to drive to Long Island and NYC school sites

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

USD $78,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $85,000.00/Yr.
