Morning Dew Tropical Plants is Florida’s premier wholesale tropical plant source for customers all across the country. We are the largest one by far, and growing! We sell to interiorscapers, garden centers, florists, and landscapers all over the United States. We work in an open office, have a great team, and love what we do!
Full-time Accounting/Full Charge Bookkeeper
We are seeking to hire a self-starting accountant/bookkeeper. This is a great opportunity to work as part of an exciting team in a friendly work environment. After 3 months, job can be 60-80% remote, coming into the office 1-2 days per week.
Responsibilities:
General Accounting/Bookkeeping duties, including:
- Issue checks
- Receive payments
- Remote bank deposits
- Credit card processing
- Reconciliation of AP and AR accounts, including collection efforts
- Post vendor invoices
- Meeting month-end posting deadlines
- Issue customer invoices
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Track and calculate commission payments
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Administering enrollment in employee IRA program
- Worker’s Compensation reporting
- 1099 Preparation
- Cash flow analysis
- Improve processes to increase efficiency and bottom line
Education and Professional Requirements:
- REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or 10+ years relevant experience
- REQUIRED: Strong Excel expertise including Pivot Tables and VLookup function
- REQUIRED: 5+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience (should have experience A/R, A/P, reconciling, auditing, creating new customers, cleaning up accounts, etc.)
- REQUIRED: Strong typing/data entry skills including 10 key
- Interest in tropical plants a big plus, but certainly not required

COMPENSATION:
- Base salary $55,000
- Retention bonus $15,000 1st year
