ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, Sloan School of Management-Economics, Finance and Accounting (EF&A), to provide high-level faculty and administrative support for multiple programs and projects in Sloans’ academic areas. This will include assisting faculty, performing a variety of financial duties, planning/coordinating events, communications support, and a variety of other duties. Will synthesize, evaluate, and communicate clearly with an eye toward efficiency; develop and use in-depth knowledge of MIT and other departments to anticipate and initiate actions regarding office operations; interpret and resolve highly varied situations and problems; and support the mission of the Sloan academic areas.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; general understanding of own work and how it impacts operations outside the academic area; ability to recognize needs of the academic area and how it impacts other areas at MIT and understanding of role relative to all areas; advanced-level computer software skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, WordPress, database management, and desktop publishing software; ability to easily negotiate the internet and perform searches; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills for representing the work area and the larger MIT community. Must be able to collaborate effectively with others while advancing organizational goals and achieving desired outcomes; manage ambiguity, anticipate needs, adapt quickly to complete tasks, and solve challenges that develop; and communicate openly, effectively, and in a timely manner within and outside the school.
