Millennium Steel Service
Summary: Millennium Steel will carry out blanking operations for automotive grade steel. Blanking involves processing of coils of flat rolled steel into steel sheets of various shapes and sizes. Blanking produces pieces of steel sheet material called blanks.
A Blanking Line Team Member operates the Blanking line in order to process steel coils into steel sheets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs visual checks of steel coil during all phases of processing
Operates a fairly automated blanking line machine(s)
Uses measuring devices to obtain specifications of the steel coil/blanks
Documents the coils specifications on board as reference for other blanking members. Also documents the Blanks specification and piece count.
Sets up the coil in the machine and ensures the coil is cut at the right specifications.
Packages the blanks properly into pallets
Enters finished coil and blank production data into computer
Uses crane to set blanking dies on and off bolster

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: 3 to 6 months experience and/or training, high school diploma or GED preferred but not required
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Knowledge of the metric system a plus.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding an carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Crane license, forklift license a plus
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with computer, mechanically inclined, knowledge of either electronics, hydraulics or pneumatics
