POSITION SUMMARY: The Director, Finance & Payor Contracting is responsible for the overall financial health of the organization and ensures financial support for overall organizational strategy. He/She plays a key role in strategic initiatives or functional strategies for the organization, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. He/She will oversee all financial aspects of business and drive the company’s financial strategy and planning. They will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments. He/She is a reliable professional with broad knowledge to all accounting, financial and business principles. He/She is a strategic thinker and effective leader with strong decision-making skills. The goal of the individual in this role is to guide the company towards profitability and long-term success. He/She is responsible for key risk management activities, negotiation and management of payor contracts, and provides oversight and monitoring for the revenue cycle. He/She establishes and manages procurement/purchasing procedures in concert with budgeting and forecasting processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee financial operations of the organization
  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
  • Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required)
  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
  • Set up and oversee the company’s financial reporting systems
  • Manage and provide ongoing training and set goals for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations
  • Develop the corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and investors
  • Establish budgets and the corresponding management and forecasting processes
  • Support the development and management of procurement/purchasing procedures
  • Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Manage contracting with payers and support proactive monitoring of reimbursements
  • Provide high-level oversight for revenue cycle performance
  • Implement and manage business risk management activities (i.e., manage business insurance programs); partner with organization colleagues to support organizational compliance activities
  • Conduct analysis of financial risks and benefits on business initiatives
  • Drive capital planning activities in partnership with other senior leaders
  • Apply financial analysis to recommend solutions that support business objectives
  • Identify individual/team skill gaps and developmental opportunities (e.g., training, special assignments, conferences, projects, etc.) to facilitate individual/team development
  • Follow company policy and procedures which protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with established security standards and best practices
  • Additional duties as assigned to ensure company success

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • BS/BA in accounting, finance, or relevant field; MS/MA is a plus
  • CPA or other relevant qualification is preferred
  • Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
