Miami Dade College
Adjunct Faculty members teach courses to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree – K-12 ESE.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
- Evaluates and advises students
- Participates in departmental and College affairs
- Develops curricula
- Recruits students
- Serves on committees
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Master’ s Degree in Education with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Special Education/Exceptional Student Education; and State of Florida requirements for teacher preparation faculty must be met.
- All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to use innovative teaching techniques
- Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction
- Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instruction
- Ability to work well with students and colleagues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
