Journeyman/Finish Carpenter Description
Meridian Construction Company was founded with the goal of providing excellent service to our clients throughout the entire construction process. The Residential Construction Journeyman/Finish Carpenter is a full-time position at Meridian Construction Company. The position is comprised of construction functions and will require the applicant to work closely with both their superintendent and other construction team members. The position will be expected to perform duties including but not limited to; hanging interior/exterior doors, interior trim work, tile installation, building decks, installing lap and board and batten exterior siding, hanging soffit and fascia, etc.
Salary Range – $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience. Full time position.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Complete construction tasks given to you by job superintendent by the scheduled end date.
Perform said tasks up to Meridian Construction Company standards to minimize callbacks.
Clock in and out daily with our onsite time system, allowing the administrative staff to accurately job cost.
Inform Superintendent immediately of any problems that may arise that are unable to be fixed by personnel that are currently on jobsite.
Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The skill required to hang interior & exterior doors throughout a new construction home.
Ability to trim out the entire interior of a home. (Windows, Doors, Baseboard, etc.)
Ability to install tile, whether it be on the floor or in a custom shower or bath.
Experience building composite decks.
Experience hanging lap and board and batten siding.
Ability to install soffit and fascia.
Ability to work as a team and work in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
3 Years Related Construction Experience
Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Work Environment
Work is performed in an outside environment. At Meridian Construction Company, we keep our crews working year-round, which means that during the summer an employee can experience extremely hot temperatures and during the winter an employee can expect often freezing temperatures. The jobsite will be loud, with power tools running often.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see. The employee may be required to lift objects more than 100 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent position receiving health and accident insurance benefits after 60 days employment. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with usual weekday hours being 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position requires the ability to work the occasional evening or weekend.
Travel
Travel is expected for this position; however, Meridian Construction Company rarely leaves the greater Missoula area, with our furthest residential build in 2021 being just short of Superior, MT.
