Position Summary: Life Link III’s Senior Accountant emphasizes customer focus, collaboration, and innovation in their approach to realizing Life Link III’s mission and values. This position is available given strong revenue growth and business expansion.
The Senior Accountant reports to the Finance Director and will work out of our Bloomington, MN offices. Life Link III embraces a flexible work arrangement for administrative roles that support our clinical and flight operation groups. Remote work schedules will be mutually coordinated.
Working collaboratively with the Finance Director and Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, own the monthly close process, ensure timely and accurate processing and reporting of all revenue, expenses, and capital, providing audit support, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, financial statements and supporting schedules, and ensuring appropriate internal control procedures are established and followed. The Senior Accountant will embrace and live out the mission and values of Life Link III.
Position Highlights:
Own the general ledger and related monthly processes including preparing monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information
Prepare journal entries and analyze general ledger accounts in conjunction with the Accountant to ensure proper recording on a monthly basis
Oversee payroll accounting and monthly account reconciliations
Lead the monthly analysis of financial statements and report on variances
Assist with the preparation of the annual operating plan with a focus on balance sheet accounts and cash flow planning
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by leadership
Assist with annual financial audit; assist/lead other audits as assigned
Assist external auditors with tax return preparation and other external reporting requirements
Document and monitor internal controls
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
Oversee fixed asset processing and reporting
Establish annual supplies inventory audit, and assist with ongoing aviation inventory accounting requirements
Other projects as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, finance or related field
Proven understanding of GAAP and accounting theory
5+ years accounting, finance, and planning experience
Strong analytical skills
Highly detail oriented, accurate and organized
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal direction to accomplish objectives
Knowledge and experience with mid-market financial software, experience with Microsoft Business Central is a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external entities to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and drive results
Desire to work in a highly dynamic, growing business environment where change is constant and flexibility is key
Intellectually curious – ask the right questions to understand the role and the business
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous accounting experience with full P&L and balance sheet responsibility in a dynamic, innovative, growing organization is desired
CPA (active or inactive) a plus
Experience in the healthcare or aviation industries helpful, but not required
