We are currently seeking a Highway Engineering Associate I for the Atlanta office.

The Highway Engineering Associate I candidate will be responsible for roadway/highway analysis and design, plans production, specifications, reports, and estimates efforts on conventional and design-build projects for GDOT, county and municipal clients. Additional responsibilities include monitoring labor budgets and schedules for assigned tasks/projects; coordinating with discipline key task leaders and staff to ensure ongoing communications; meeting project deliverable schedules and budgets for assigned projects; and supporting marketing and business development initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university;
- 0-2 years of experience in roadway/highway engineering;
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering design, systems, calculations, along with the application of engineering methods;
- Basic knowledge of MicroStation, InRoads, and/or Open Roads Designer;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment;
- Prior internship and/or related engineering experience;
- Experience working with large multi-discipline teams;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and overall quality control and management; and;
- Conscientious of project schedules and deadlines involving deliverables (including interim deadlines).
Preferred Qualifications:
- GDOT experience
- Experience working on General Engineering Consultant and Design-Build contracts
