Summary of Responsibilities
The Director of LTL Pricing and Carrier Relations will be responsible for managing a team of managers and professionals tasked with delivering exceptional service to the entire InXpress customer base and the customers of the Franchisees. The key focus of this area will be to establish aggressive general rates and customer specific rates for customers and translate this into a pricing strategy and program to grow market share. This team will work with all other areas under the VP of Freight & LTL Carrier Relations to serve as the single point of contact for all customer problem resolution related to pricing in collaboration with the Director of LTL Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a team of seasoned LTL Managers and Individual Contributors with the InXpress brand and culture in mind
  • Coach and develop team members to ensure they have the tools, expertise, and environment required for success
  • Develop the LTL carrier engagement and pricing processes and KPIs to ensure exceptional experience for InXpress customers, Sales, and Franchisees
  • Ensure that InXpress customers receive the best possible pricing with market share growth as the primary driver, with a focus on still ensuring long term profitability
  • Work across entire Freight organization to ensure collaboration and teamwork on behalf of customers
  • Work closely with the Director of LTL Operations to collaboratively drive excellence within the Freight vertical across InXpress

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain relationships with leadership across the entire Freight organization
  • Responsible for all KPIs related to carrier relations and pricing

Key Qualifications
Based on the technical and professional responsibilities of the position, the Director of LTL Pricing and Carrier Relations is required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience in the LTL industry as a shipper, either at an LTL carrier or in LTL brokerage
  • 5 years experience in management of individual contributors and LTL pricing for large organization
  • 10 years professional experience, preferably within carrier relations or negotiating role

Physical and Environmental
The Director of Carrier Relations and Pricing role is primarily located in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise level but may experience other physical environments while traveling. Physical requirements include:

  • Using computer hardware and software for extended periods of time (repetitive motion)
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
