ASSISTANT DISTILLER
The ideal candidate is someone who is hard working, independent, and motivated to learn about craft spirits and the science of creating them.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 yr. of age
- Able to climb, kneel, stoop, and lift 50 lbs daily
- Able to take direction from Head Distiller
- Able to work in both hot and cold conditions
- Must possess good communication skills
- Must be detail oriented, organized, and able to correctly follow SOPs
- Must be able to work well as a team and individually
- Must possess strong problem solving skills
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS The following are not necessary for job consideration, but will be an advantage: * College Degree (or classes) in Chemistry, Biology, or Brew Science
- Experience with mashing, spirit transfer, filtering, distilling/brewing, and bottling
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Experience with machinery maintenance
RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a clean and sanitary distillery
- Processes like mashing, pumping, fermentation monitoring, distilling, blending, filtering, barreling, proofing, bottling, and tasting for quality control
- Compliance with written SOPs
- Data entry
- Forklift operation
- Report to and work alongside Head Distiller daily
- Being familiar with OSHA requirements and maintain a safe work environment
- Able to work some (1-2 per month at most) nights and weekends
Although it is an advantage to have some experience, this position is also available for those with none. The candidate will be trained in any responsibilities that they are not familiar with. The primary qualifications are a strong desire to learn about craft distilling and to be a productive team member.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour
