1. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The procurement assistant is responsible for the procurement of raw materials, forgings, bar stock and consumables required to maintain production schedules. Procurement of services (i.e., NDE Inspection, Calibration, Maintenance, Etc.) and perform other duties as directed by supply chain manager.

- Purchase of raw materials and semi-finished components, consumables, and services (i.e. NDE, calibration) required to maintain scheduled production at competitive prices.
- Document the purchased goods and services with purchase order.
- Identify and implement cost savings/efficiency initiatives involving procurement
- Identify procurement related opportunities and identify, develop, and prioritize procurement initiatives.
- Facilitate resolution of supplier/vendor performance issues
- Participate in cross-functional teams to identify viable alternative sources, conduct supplier/vendor evaluations, and implement solutions
- Notifying Quality department for the qualification of a new or potential vendors, prior to procuring materials or components from same.
3. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hand
- Lift and/or move objects: Regularly: 10 lbs.; Occasionally: up to 25 lbs.
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
4. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- Typically exposed to office noises and interruptions such as printers, phones, and computers.
5. TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES:
- The operation of business machines and manufacturing equipment necessary to maintain continuity and stability of company operations.
- Must have working knowledge of computer software such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe.
6. QUALIFICATIONS:
- A 4-year college degree in a technical or business discipline preferred, but not required.
- Must have at a minimum of a high school diploma or hold a GED certificate.
- Minimum of one year of experience purchasing consumables and services required to maintain scheduled products.
- Demonstrated experience with planning, managing, and applying detailed quantitative analysis such as total cost modeling, forecasting, or inventory planning
- Experience with reconciling data from disparate and incomplete sources to develop well-documented and supportable recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through team facilitation, management presentations, and project deliverables
- Ability to effectively interact with associates representing various functions and levels within the Organization
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- A clear understanding of the use of manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Support plant quality systems goals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
