Job Summary:
Pricing Manager. This position will develop and manage a Pricing Team dedicated to providing the rate solutions as they relate to new or existing business opportunities. This role will work in conjunction with leadership to coordinate the most competitive solutions in meeting the needs of our partners and clients. This position requires a comfortability in managing a team, and prioritizing competing workload initiatives. The pricing team supports both our international partners as well as our US domestic sales team. Pricing Manager will oversee the collection, analyzation, and recommendation of ideal base rates, accessorial levels, and gross margins to enable winning, and profitable pricing to our existing customer base as well as for new sales opportunities. Adheres to an active management approach with a dedication to customer service and relationship building.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage the performance and results of a team of pricing analysts
Develop and mentor team members on an ongoing basis, providing daily oversight and functional guidance, advice, and/or training
Collaborate with teams to continuously improve processes, build tools, and share best practice for pricing
Identify and capitalize on strengths while simultaneously overcoming weaknesses in terms of pricing and service comparative to competition
Execute informed decisions about appropriate price points for various carrier routings based on the analysis of internal, external data, and customer needs.
Serves as liaison between Sales, Clients, and Operations for any questions regarding pricing.
Identify opportunities for improving pricing and profitability of new and existing accounts
Establish, negotiate, and execute processes and service level agreements
Follows industry developments and competitor pricing strategies that may affect pricing structures, and provides tactical and strategic responses
Analyzes shipment volume and revenue to determine effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies
Negotiate competitive pricing from transportation vendors on individual shipments or lanes as needed.
Creates and maintain client rates on CargoWise One, when applicable
Manage rates within CargoSphere Rate management system and provide training to other staff where needed
Initiates profitability analysis and develops plans to increase profitability
Responsible for reporting and analysis of all pricing team activity, providing optics to leadership and data driven decision making
Collaborate with Agent Development, Sales, Operations, and Marketing Leadership in efforts towards goal congruence.
