Gartner for Chief Marketing Executives is one of the fastest growing services in Gartner’s portfolio. The Member Acquisition role is an amazing opportunity for a talented Chief Marketing Officer to escape the C-Suite but stay firmly in the game. The Member Acquisition role will be responsible for growing the Gartner for Chief Marketing Executive business. Partnering with sales to identify, engage and demonstrate the value of Gartner for Chief Marketing Executives (CME) to prospective CMO’s and other Senior Marketing executives. The primary function is to demonstrate the value of our service and make our product come alive to Chief Marketing Executives and their teams via Proofs of Concept (POC).

What you will do:

  • The Member Acquisition role within CME Business is uniquely positioned to educate and support Sales on new business opportunities
  • You will act as a coach to the Sales Team to help close and qualify new and current clients and to educate them on the true value proposition of the CME service, helping to “bring it to life”
  • You will actively participate in the strategic account planning process to determine growth opportunities
  • You will conduct Proof of Concept Calls, and help to define and prepare Service Kick-Offs (essentially transitioning the clients to a Service Delivery associate going forward)
  • Whilst you are not solely responsible for selling the CME service, you need to be comfortable in a Sales-led environment and find motivation from being in front of clients on a regular basis
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing and Research to develop and engage in the CME go-to-market strategy
  • Provide POC reporting; conversion rates, continuous improvement programs and insights as it relates to CME growth activities

What you will need:

  • 20+ years working in a senior management role in a Marketing capacity with multiple years as a CMO or equivalent
  • In-depth understanding of the Marketing industry:
    • Marketing
    • Board engagement
    • C-Suite engagement
    • Sales
    • CX
    • Branding
  • Experience in a Sales-focused role (preferably within a consulting environment), and a strong understanding of sales metrics is highly preferr
  • Consistent over-achievement of retention and growth metrics
  • A history of coaching, presenting and collaborating at a senior level (C-level preferable)
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred
