JOB TITLE: Food Service Staff

Reports To: Director of Food & Beverage, Assistant Director of Food & Beverage

FLSA Status: Part-Time Hourly

SUMMARY:

The Food Service Staff is responsible for preparing, serving, and clean-up of food and beverage products and services in both a catered and concessionary environment. The Food Service Staff must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment.

The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to…):

  • Receives and serves concession food and kitchen orders.
  • Receives and verifies payments, operates a cash register, processes and maintains related records to reconcile and follow City standards relating to accounts receivable tasks.
  • During catered events; serves prepared meals maintaining proper portion control, ensures that food is properly displayed and waits tables.
  • Carries, stocks, and transports concession and food service inventory, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assists kitchen staff with food preparation, setting up banquets/buffets, and concession stands.
  • Stores food in appropriate containers at proper temperatures.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment.
  • Provides general customer service and communicates with the public regarding fees, policies, rules and general information about the facility or event.
  • Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
  • Follows all City safety procedures. Reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

  • Basic math and balancing accounts.
  • Work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Carry, stock and transport food supplies, equipment and inventory in a safe manner.
  • Safely operate and handle cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Using applicable kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Determining the readiness of food.
  • Collecting and counting cash.
  • Operating in a courteous, knowledgeable and tactful manner with customers, staff and the general public.
  • Oral and written communication sufficient to exchange or convey information and to provide and receive work direction.

Physical Dimensions:

Performing the duties of this position involves extensive standing and walking. Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, crouch, stoop and grasp. Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
