Environmental Incentives seeks to hire a Finance Associate to join our team. This is a great opportunity for an early to mid-career finance and accounting professional with analytical and process management skills to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of functions that support the effective management of both corporate and project finances. Under the direction of the Finance Specialist and Controller, you will assist with all aspects of billing, accounts receivable, project finance, and internal financial reporting. You will leverage your client management and communication skills in this role as you collaborate with Directors and Program Managers to assist with their project-related finance needs while liaising with the finance and accounting team to ensure alignment with corporate finance practices. You will also leverage your process management skills to develop and improve standard financial operating procedures and related tools and resources.

Responsibilities
- Perform accounts receivable functions including invoicing, collections, reporting and revenue recognition
- Identify, develop and implement process improvements for timely aggregation of project reporting through performance metrics and dashboards
- Be a business partner to project teams and ensure project goals are on target by providing invaluable support related to data collection and analysis, guidance, reporting, and other project financial support as needed
- Translate the outputs of financial analysis into impactful insights and actionable recommendations
- Prepare meeting materials, such as agendas, handouts, and meeting reports
- Participate in month-end, quarterly, and year-end close
- Maintain excellent communication within and across teams to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field and 3 years relevant experience; or a Master’s degree and 1 year of experience
- Demonstrated experience working in a team of finance and accounting professionals to provide financial analysis, accounting, bookkeeping, or other related support
- Demonstrated successful experience contributing to multiple projects and managing multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Deltek Costpoint ERP
- Experience with accounts receivable and general ledger
- Demonstrated experience effectively liaising with and advancing work amongst internal clients as well as external clients and vendors
- Government Contracting experience is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Advanced to expert knowledge of MS Office suite (particularly MS Excel)
- Strong knowledge of Financial Modeling
- Ability to collaborate with, listen to, respect, and celebrate the contributions of others, including others of different cultural backgrounds
- Problem-solving orientation and growth mindset
Additional Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States with no restrictions
- Criminal background check required
Base Station and Covid-19 Policy
- The position is available for remote or Washington, DC-based employees, with a strong preference to be DC-based.
Proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 or legally authorized exemption is required for all Environmental Incentives employees working in the United States, regardless of office location or remote work. Selected candidates will be required to provide proof of full vaccination before beginning employment with Environmental Incentives. Full vaccination is defined as 2 weeks after the final dose of the requisite vaccination.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is $55,000-$75,000 per year, dependent upon experience and location. Environmental Incentives also offers a competitive benefits package that includes:
