Engineering Security Architect – REMOTE contract role
We need a strong Engineering Security Architect with the below experience (see job description).

NOTE: Must be willing to work on a W2 basis. This is our customer’s requirement.

The contract length starts at 6 months – but will be extended if your work is strong. You could be there for years!

The Engineering Security Architect will play a crucial role in setting the strategy and technical direction applied to ensure that the customer’s data and applications are properly protected. The role will be responsible for architecting and deploying well architected security solutions. This role will work with the Information Security Team on security requirements and ensuring that their requirements are implemented with best, optimized solutions with defense in depth built in. The role will also work with the infrastructure engineering, application development teams to ensure we have security first approach and we have well architected solutions for hybrid cloud applications and infrastructure. This role will work to continuously modernize our security solutions and ensure all initiatives follow best security practices.

A successful candidate for this position must possess both a deep and wide background in information security applied across a wide breadth of technologies spanning both solutions built on traditional platforms, such as Windows, Linux Servers, VMware infrastructure, and more modern cloud deployments in Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, Azure/M365.

This candidate will work closely with the infrastructure engineering team and information security team to build security first approach with all our initiatives. This person needs to be comfortable with driving technical ideas and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences. This person needs to be able to develop and maintain the current state and target state security architecture and be able to communicate on the roadmap across the firm.

Specific Responsibilities include:

· Understand our current state and define target state architecture and define security engineering strategy and roadmap for security engineering for our Azure Cloud Program

· Define security engineering architecture and identify solutions to improve our cyber posture

· Gather and analyze security requirements provided by our information security department.

· Develop security architecture for highly scalable and fault-tolerant applications that adhere to expected standards and discipline from a security posture.

· Define best practices, processes and guiding principles for security engineering that could be used across our organization.

· Lead and mentor other team members and facilitate transition to security policies as code.

· Identify and drive process improvements.

· Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams on different initiatives.

· Define solution level security architecture for project and work with Information Security team on reviews and conformance to security standards.

· Work directly with project development teams to enable successful project implementation applying the recommended security tools, technologies and techniques. Provide expertise to project team engineers as needed.

· Stay up to date on new tools & techniques in the information security space.

· Conduct proof of concept activities with key business users in support of advanced use cases.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university with 15+ years of experience architecting, designing and developing large scale security solutions utilizing a mixture of hardware and software technologies. This candidate must have experience building security architecture for applications deployed on or with the following technologies:

· Azure and M365 Security

· C# .Net

· Python

· JavaScript

· API

· DevSecOps SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA

· Micro Services, Docker, Kubernetes

· Linux, Windows Servers, Windows10, Vmware ESX

· SQL Server

· Snowflake

· Working experience with Network Security

· Experience as technical lead organizing and mentoring junior and intermediate level engineers/architects.

Working knowledge of Data Security Best Practices:

· At Rest

· In Flight

· In Use

· Expert level experience with encryption technologies and techniques.

· Ability to build Risk Models and analyze security weaknesses in complex technology deployments.

· Has experience working with product teams on specifying Secure Application Requirements.

· Experience with Financial Services systems is considered a plus.

Certifications Preferred

· Microsoft certified Azure Solutions Architect expert

· Microsoft certified cybersecurity architect expert

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $125.00 – $150.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental Pay:

  • Bonus pay

Experience:

  • IT Industry: 10 years (Preferred)
  • Windows, Linux Server, VMware infrastructure: 10 years (Preferred)
  • architecting and developing large scale security solutions: 10 years (Preferred)
