Position: Welder

Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Overview: This position requires individual to fabricate and build job specific products using jigs and engineering prints. Individuals in this position need to understand and apply industry standards and welding techniques required for material being used. Individual will strive to reach daily production goals without compromising product quality or safety.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Using the proper jig, assemble product according to the engineering prints using fabricated parts. Check fabricated parts for accuracy during the building process to ensure completed product meets all specifications of the engineering prints. Weld all items together using accepted industry standards. Check final product measurements for accuracy.

· Make sure all welds are of high quality and free of cracks and air bubbles.

· Check product for any mistakes made by you or others prior to releasing the product to the paint department. Report any discrepancies to your immediate supervisor.

· Safely use grinders, torches or other power tools to rework product.

· Ensure parts required for assigned builds are stocked in jig and/or are easily accessible. Notify supervisors if parts required are getting low.

· Keep work area clean and organized. Make good use of any available time to clean or repair jig, clean work area or equipment.

· Always wear PPE and follow safety guidelines.

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Individuals must possess the following skills:

· Ability to pass a weld test that demonstrates they have the welding techniques required for this position.

· Ability to properly read tape measures, perform basic math skills, and on occasion read engineering/blue prints.

· Ability to communicate effectively with others in a positive manner.

· Ability to continuously stand, bend, twist, squat, grip with both hands, push and pull throughout entire Shift. Will also be required to constantly lift 20 – 70 pounds during a scheduled shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

• Welding: 1 year (Preferred)
