Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. Looking for Staff Accountant at Hunt Valley, MD

POSITION SUMMARY:

World’s largest distributor of English language comic books and related merchandise is looking for an enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will report directly to Diamond’s controller, and will have frequent interaction with the Director of Finance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Monthly work papers reconciliations, and related journal entries;
• Financial statement preparation for Diamond’s sister entities, including income statements, balance sheets, and the statement of cash flows;
• Managing Diamond International Galleries MS Access inventory data base;
• Monthly sales tax returns and assistance with quarterly estimated income tax payments;
• Provide assistance with Diamond’s annual audit;
• Prepare annual tax schedules, including multistate apportionment and IRS section 263A;
• All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access. (Microsoft Excel skills will be evaluated as part of the interview process.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Prior work paper preparation and account reconciliation experience a big plus
