Overview
Securities Services(SeS) is one of the five business segments within Corporate Bank which is responsible for the development of applications providing local market connectivity, settlement, fund services and securities lending for financial services clients like Asset Managers, Broker-Dealers and Global Custodians. Our current work includes new Sales and purchase agreements (SPA) web applications, DLT, real-time event processing and analytics. You will be joining SeS team as a Production Support Engineer; In addition, you’ll be performing service operations specialist responsibilities within the production support team. You will be accountable for driving a culture of proactive continual improvement into the Production environment through automation of manual work, monitoring improvements, and platform hygiene. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting critical client facing applications, and developing technical solutions to improve the stability of production environments.

What You’ll Do
Managing a set of Securities Services (SeS) applications, while developing a good understanding of the activities required to execute production management functions and ensuring the Service Operations team provides optimum service level to the Business lines supported. Ensure all the BAU support queries from business are handled on priority and within agreed service level agreement (SLA) and ensure all application stability issues are well taken care of
Take overall responsibility for the resolution of incidents and problems within the team while overseeing the resolution of complex incidents to ensure that the right problem-solving techniques and processes are applied, as well as assisting in managing business stakeholder relationships and defining and managing OLAs with stakeholders. Take responsibility for your own engineering delivery to drive a reduction in technical debt across the production environment with development and infrastructure teams
Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders, prepare and document meetings, and track progress, while ensuring the team understands OLAs and resources appropriately and are aligned to business Service Level Agreement (SLAs). Build the support knowledge database by updating the application runbook with known support tasks and participate in all Business Continuity Program (BCP), release deployments, and component failure tests based on the run books
Engage in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to enhance Production Standards and controls. Provide strict production gatekeeper function by reviewing the solutions coming from Application services and ensuring that nothing goes into production operation unless all prerequisites have been met and that the different component operators accept it
Undertake specific functions within the relevant production management process as identified for the specific production management area and participate in regular meetings with stakeholders, prepare and document meetings, track progress and communicates to stakeholders, while collecting, interpreting, and responding to changes in production data, as appropriate, and tracking the implementation of resolution tasks, as well as providing regular and reliable reporting of relevant data to meet management requirements
Understand thoroughly the end-to-end application support process and escalation procedures, become fully familiar with all support tools that will be used to provide effective support in the relevant area (i.e., service operations), while maintaining an end-to-end view of the application and infrastructure landscape, as well as providing input and contribute to Production Management related audits and engaging with other service management groups to understand business requirements
Skills You’ll Need
Extensive Information Technology (IT) experience including experience in Production Support in large corporate environments. Experience of applying technical solutions to improve the stability of production environments
Working knowledge/experience of some of the following technology skills: Operating systems: Windows, Unix/Linux, etc.; Databases: MS SQL/Oracle/Sybase and Structured Query Language (SQL). Knowledge of SQL and one of the Databases is must; Monitoring/Scheduling Tools: Geneos, New Relic, Splunk, Control-M, Autosys, etc.; Scripting/Languages: PowerShell/Unix Shell scripting/Python/PERL, Java/.NET, etc.; Basic understanding of Middleware and Containers: Message Queue (MQ)/Kafka, Apache/IIS, WebLogic/WebSphere/Tomcat/JBOSS, OpenShift/Docker
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Agile Frameworks, etc. with a good understanding of ITIL Service Management framework such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes. Experience in IT in large corporate environments, specifically in controlled production environments or in Financial Services Technology in a client-facing function
Knowledge of operating infrastructure on any public cloud (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Azure, etc) with respect to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)/DevOps will be added benefit
Experience of end-to-end Level 2,3 management and good overview of Production/Operations Management overall, supporting complex application and infrastructure domains, and DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with knowledge/development experience is desirable
