Job Description: Desert Orthopedics Center is looking for a Front Desk Receptionist/Scheduler for a shared position between front and back office. This person should be dependable, organized, and have excellent communication skills. We are a very busy growing office with a new third location and cannot wait to find new staff to join our team!

This Front Desk/Receptionist will be cross trained to perform both front-office and back-office duties. The position will rotate between the front and back office for PTO coverage or assistance as needed.

Responsibilities:

Back Office

 Assists providers with orthopedic procedures in the office and acts as a resource for patients regarding their orthopedic care.

 Apply casts, splints and dressings.
 Proficient in venipunctures
 Administers orthotic braces and devices
 Collect results of patients’ tests from the laboratory or imaging, sort them out and make them available to the provider before he/she attends to patients

Front Office

 Answering Phones and Voicemails
 Scheduling Appointments
 Checking in and Checking out Patients
 Verifying Insurance and Referrals
 Collecting Copays and Outstanding Balances
 Faxing Records to Referring Physicians
 Rooming Patients

Qualifications

 Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities, ability to work independently, and possess good clinical judgment and decision-making skills.

 Preferred but NOT required: One year as a medical assistant in an office setting
 Experience in casting and DME NOT Required – We will teach you!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
