CUYAHOGA COUNTY BOARD OF DD
The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking an HR Generalist to focus on diversity, equity and inclusion and agency culture. In this position they will work across the organization to optimize organizational culture, align the organization’s diversity and inclusion goals with strategic plan outcomes, and respond to changes or policies that occur outside of the organization that impact culture. They will also develop and implement the organization’s diversity strategies to attract, hire, and maintain a diverse workplace. The nature of work will include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Assists with the development, recommendation, and execution of strategies to foster Cuyahoga DD’s diversity goals.
- Reviews current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support Cuyahoga DD’s diversity goals and recommend necessary changes.
- Collects and analyzes statistical data to evaluate Cuyahoga DD’s staff and people served in accordance with diversity standards and goals.
- Develops and/or acquires training and development to aid diversity and retention initiatives.
- Provides guidance to supervisory and human resources staff in developing objective performance and other employee evaluations and policies.
- Maintains knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
- Provides training and policy updates to colleagues and staff, ensuring legal compliance of management and human resources staff.
- Assists with implementing employee engagement activities to promote a unified culture.
- Assists with implementing customer service strategies to ensure Cuyahoga DD continues to provide excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Some of the essential KSAs expected by candidates in this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of and experience with core diversity and inclusion concepts and practices as well as strong capability in organizational change.
- Excellent communication skills, including effective presentations, report writing and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in diverse environments.
- Knowledge of practices and principles of developmental disabilities; vocational rehabilitation, and employment services.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural and inclusive setting.
- Ability to foster strong internal and external relationships for the purpose of integrating diversity, inclusion and cultural competency initiatives throughout the community.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships at all levels of the organization as well as with community partners.
- Strong talent data analytics experience; and ability to use data to drive change.

* SALARY : The salary range of $56,385 to $90,215 is the full range for employees in this pay schedule-it is NOT the range for a new hire. It is the Cuyahoga DD’s intent to pay a salary that is reasonable and competitive based on the market rate for the position, and because we are committed to our current employees, internal equity is also a factor when hiring new staff.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Diversity Studies or related field required.
- Three – five years of Human Resources and/or Diversity and/or related experience required.
- The preferred candidate will have a strong grasp on the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.
- Hold a valid Ohio driver’s license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record according to Cuyahoga DD policy.
