Job Description

Job Title: Accountant
Department: Administrative
Reports To: Director of Finance & Accounting
FLSA Status: Non Exempt

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Responsible for assisting in managing the activities of the accounting department, prepares and reviews financial information and ensures work is performed according to generally accepted standard accounting principles, established procedures, department guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists with preparation of financial statements and reports.

Analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies.

Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.

Support duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivables.

Compiles and prepares routine reports and summaries.

Keeps all financial records up to date.

Processes bank and cash receipts transactions and reconciliations.

Maintains general ledger and other related procedures and controls.

Posting customer checks, vendor payments, and ACH payments.

Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records.

Reconciling account balances

Provide assistance on budgeting processing and preparation.

Maintains reconciliation and disposition of Fixed Asset

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors’ degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; Certified Public Accounting certificate preferred and or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent.
CPA/MBA a plus.
