Shifts: 1st and 2nd Shift Openings

(1st Shift: 7:00 A.M.- 3:00 P.M. / 2nd Shift: 3:00 P.M. – 11:00 P.M.)

Position Summary: Uses general hand tools to set up, run, troubleshoot and tear down plastic extrusion lines. Mixes materials. Uses a variety of measurement and inspection equipment to document and determine proper configuration and performance of our product. Operate powered off line fabrication equipment (punches, drills, routers, etc.).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Quality conscious with the ability to differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable parts. Pays attention to detail and notifies assigned extrusion technician when part falls out of specification.

2) Read blue prints, follow quality requirements, measuring and documenting the quality of part being produced using calipers, digital comparator, tape measure, digital and steel ruler.

3) Follows traveler instructions for lengths, quantity per package and pallet.

4) Review traveler to determine correct product labeling, packaging, crating and packaging arrangements. Label, package and palletize finished product as specified. Prepares all required labels on thermal transfer printer. Lifting 50 + lbs., bending & twisting to palletize boxes on skids.

5) Ensures that all materials are staged in a timely manner to execute production. This includes resins for primary and secondary extruders, colorant and packaging.

6) Ensures all scrap materials are kept clean, properly sorted, labeled and staged without contamination.

7) Ensures that all set-ups and teardowns are performed efficiently. Following specific operating procedures, guidelines and instructions. Properly cleaning all extrusion tooling at job tear-down.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Team-player attitude
  • Basic math and mechanical skills (+,-, X, /, fractions, decimals)
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to use handheld tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
  • Physical ability to reach overhead, walk, stand, bend, twist, lift, and carry
