Full Job Description
Job Title: Accounting Associate
Department: Accounting
Location: Washington, IA
Job Summary: The Accounting Associate is responsible for providing financial administrative and clerical services and ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations. The Accounting Associate processes credit applications and monitors incoming account receivable payments and secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts.
Duties:
- Posts customer payments by recording ACH, checks, and credit card transactions.
- Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from bank detail.
- Coordinates and manages the entire Accounts Receivable process- from invoicing to collections.
- Initiates best practices and processes for the Accounts Receivable process.
- Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers.
- Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line, etc.
- Processes all ingoing and outgoing credit applications for prospective customers and vendors.
- Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Coordinates and maintains oversight to sales and travel expenses.
- Creates purchase orders for manufacturing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field-Preferred
- 2 years’ experience working as an Accounting Associate or in a similar position in the accounting department.
- QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Salesforce experience preferred

- None
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Occasionally required to stand and walk.
- Must frequently be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
