Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking Associate Industrial Engineers to support the tactical fighter aircraft production of the F-15 Eagle and F/A-18 Super Hornet, as well as programs within the Missile and Weapons and Fabrication portfolios, in the Saint Louis, MO area.
Our Industrial Engineers are the leaders in innovation, development, evaluation, and implementation of methods or systems in support of manufacturing processes. In St. Louis, IE’s support the fabrication and assembly of some of the most sophisticated military aircraft in the world.
Position Responsibilities:

Applies general industrial engineering techniques and concepts to improve schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

Under general supervision, manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and performs risk analysis using project management tools (eg, work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation). Provides support to project completion.

Applies engineering methods (eg, mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (eg, facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.

Under general direction, analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (eg, make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (eg, critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry is required

1+ year of experience in an engineering role
-
1+ year of experience working on a production program
-
Experience with process improvement and Lean Manufacturing
-
Experience with data analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

1 or more years of experience in an Industrial Engineering role

Capable of building positive relations

Adaptable to change and be a quick learner

Ability to effectively communicate with engineering peers, management, and non-engineering support staff.
Typical Education/Experience:
Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
