Key Job Responsibilities:

Lead Engineer

  • Develop and maintain a knowledge based library for Avidity Science products and proactively facilitate communication/training to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide support, training, guidance, and mentoring to other technicians in the field and call center.
  • Supervise Technicians in the field as necessary, from hiring to labor time approval.
  • Develop and maintain information technology specifications and alternates for Avidity.
  • Science informatics and monitoring products and proactively communicate appropriate training for all project related personnel.
  • Support the Professional Services Manager in the modification, improvement, and maintenance of all service and install related paperwork and their associated processes.
  • Support the Professional Services Manager in the identification of ineffective components of the current service and installation processes and deliver measured improvement.
  • Participate in corrective action meetings when possible and related tasks.
  • Drive open communication between the installation and service teams through root cause analysis of field issues.
  • Assume lead role for any critical field customer/troubleshooting issues and provide resolution.
  • Work directly with the customer remotely or on-site as necessary in the resolution of escalated quality cases due to high degree of difficulty or degree of urgency/criticality of issue.
  • Provide supervisory, installation, and/or service support/services to international customers either remotely or on site.
  • Provide technical support in the development and delivery of proper training and certification to all installation, service and call center technicians.
  • Manage all facets of coordinating the preparation and set-up of training equipment, facilities and schedules for training courses.
  • Support Sales (pre sales support as well as during contract negotiation).
  • Work with R&D/Engineering on the release of new products from an installation and service perspective.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Trainer

  • Deliver Avidity Science product/technical training programs for external customers and internal Avidity Science employees.
  • Develop, manage and/or assist with internal and external product training plans to meet customer/learner specifications and timelines.
  • Perform both classroom and hands-on product/technical training on all Avidity Science products.
  • Attend product related meetings and contribute product knowledge & expertise.
  • Assess and market to customers available training services/products.
  • Develop and enforce training external customer policies and procedures.
  • Report internal completion and utilization of product/technical training modules.
  • Define a methodology and systematic process for designing high-quality, effective product/technical training materials.
  • Guide and advise in-house training Content Developer on technical aspects of training content to ensure accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain standards for training certification and administration of continuing education units (CEU’s).
  • Identify and implement technology-based tools and resources to facilitate authoring/curriculum development and enhance the educational experience and achievement for learners.
  • Leverage internal resources to facilitate the development and review of product/technical training programs.
  • Design, development and ensure adherence to Avidity Science procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with validation requirements in GLP and GMP environment.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing and business tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • In-depth industry knowledge and understanding of customer needs and requirements.
  • Ability to compose customer and audit defendable documentation within GLP or GMP guidelines
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written business correspondence.
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments.
  • Ability to articulate and apply a customer value proposition for Avidity Science solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and facility drawings.
  • Ability to direct and make decisions with customers and contractors.
  • Ability to translate technical product knowledge to both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Ability to manage projects to scheduled commitments and budgets.
  • Professional level presentation skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skill.

Physical Demands:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or touch. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is regularly required to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • The employee is required to travel for work/job related purposes up to 50% for customer training and up to 80% for Lead Engineer activities.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Personal protective equipment when required to safely perform the job.

Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science in a computer science or engineering discipline or 10 years related mechanical, hardware, and software installation and/ or service experience, or a combination of both.
